Men’s Night Closing Sunday October 2

Want one last shot at lowering your eclectic score?  One more chance of getting out to play with “the guys”?  Make sure you sign up to play in the Men’s Night closing.

Tee Times begin at 10am, with food, drinks and prizes to follow.  Sign-up is available in the golf shop.

Ironman/Tombstone Sunday October 16

Think you’re tough?  If so, you will definitely want to come out and show what you’ve got!  The ironman is played from the tips, and will also see some very “unique” pin placements!

For those of you who are probably a little bit smarter, the tombstone is the way to go.  The tombstone is played from the white tees for the men and the red tees for the ladies.  This will still feature the “unique” pin placements and will be a challenge and a good laugh at the same time.

Tee Times begin at 8:30am with prizes to follow after the last group has finished.  Sign-up is available in the golf shop.

Residents Closing Saturday October 22

A great way to wrap-up the year!  The Residents closing is an 18 hole mixed scramble.  All you need to do is sign-up in the golf shop with your handicap and we look after the rest.  Teams will be made as even as possible based on handicaps.  This is a purely fun event, so all levels of golfers are encouraged to come out and play.

Shotgun start in the morning – Exact Time TBD  Food, drinks, and prizes will follow in the clubhouse.  Sign-up is available in the golf shop.

Club Championship Dates

June 24th, 2016 | Posted by Mike Vaughan in Uncategorized - (Comments Off on Club Championship Dates)

With summer scheduling on the horizon, I wanted to get the dates out for the club championship.  The Club Championship is set to be played over the weekend of August 13-14.  If history dictates anything, it will likely be a morning shotgun each day, but that is TBD.  A reminder email will go out closer to the event, and sign-up will be available at that time as well.

Get out there and start practicing!

GAGA Event Start Dates

May 19th, 2016 | Posted by Mike Vaughan in Uncategorized - (Comments Off on GAGA Event Start Dates)

We are happy to announce the following starting dates for the weekly and bi-weekly GAGA events…

Ladies NightTuesday May 24th (Weekly event).

Below is a note from the Ladies Night coordinator – Kathy McNab

Hi everyone,

I am very excited to start our Ladies Nights again next week.

Every Tuesday at 6:00, GAGA will host a FUN 9 hole event for ladies followed by meeting for food, drink and prizes inside the clubhouse. This is for all levels of golfers who are GAGA members (you may sign up at Ladies night if you have not joined yet.) There is a $5 fee each week which goes toward prizes and the year end banquet.

We will golf the big course in a Best Ball format so no worries if you are new to the game. You play from the person who had the best shot through the game so duffing is ok. You will have friendly support from your team mates to learn a little more and get to know the ladies in our neighbourhood.

I am going to ask everyone to knock on a neighbour’s door and ask them to “Come out to Play with You” just like when you were a child. This would be really nice for those reluctant to play and those new to Glen Arbour. We also welcome ladies to come walk the course with us the first few times until you are comfortable.

On May 24 after golf we will have a special guest; Andrew Isenor our new Glen Arbour Pro to meet everyone and do a Q & A about golf. I will have other special guests throughout the season.

Let’s break a record this year for Ladies Night participation!!

Please sign up each week at 902-835-4653 ext 8 and let them know if you want to play with a partner or we will assign you to a team so you meet everyone. If you need to cancel please call in as well. We are primarily fair weather golfers so will not be running ladies nights when raining.

For more information please contact me at kathymcnab@eastlink.ca

Men’s NightWednesday May 25th (Weekly Event)

  • In an effort to increase the participation numbers, Men’s night has been moved to Wednesday evenings for the duration of the season. We will be bringing some fresh ideas to the night, so please do your best to come out and participate.  Sign-ups for Men’s Nights will be done through the Golf Shop at (902)835-4653 Option 8.  Please take 2 minutes to call the golf shop ahead of time to sign up so we can have an accurate idea of what numbers to expect each week.

Friday Fun NightFriday May 27th (Bi-Weekly event)

  • Likely our most popular event! Friday fun night starts with a 9 hole golf outing around 5:30-6:00.  It is open to golfers of all skill levels and is a very casual and relaxed event, so please come out and have some fun and laughs with friends and neighbours.  Following the golf each we have entertainment in the lounge.  The entertainment is provided by GAGA and its members, so please remember to pay your GAGA membership dues.

Remember to keep an eye on the website at www.gagagolf.ca for updated information

Welcome back to another great season at GAGA and Glen Arbour Golf Course!

We are pleased to announce that the 2016 Residents opening tournament will be held Saturday May 14, 2016 with an 8:30am shotgun start.  The format for the event will be a Scramble. This will be a fun, non-competitive day with the focus on meeting new neighbours and catching up with those friends we haven’t seen since coming out of hibernation!  In order to run this as efficiently as possible, we ask that you please sign up (link is to the right–>) prior to Thursday May 12 at noon to confirm your attendance.

October 2nd, 2015 | Posted by Steve Elder in Uncategorized - (Comments Off on MENS and LADIES CLOSING UPDATE)

Hi GAGA Members.

Unfortunately mother nature has not cooperated and GAGC will be closed tomorrow. The Mens Night Closing event on Sun will (hopefully) go as planned.

The Closing tournament will be rescheduled of Sat Oct 10th, with an 0830 shotgun start. While this is in fact the long weekend we felt that it was necessary to get the event in, given that the season is getting cramped for time.

Please sign up at    gagagolf.ca     as this new date will be added on the site shortly. By this I mean that your original sign up for the 3rd of Oct is no longer valid as we cannot be sure you can make it on the T/G weekend.

Don’t forget about Iron Man and Tombstone the week after Thanks giving !!
